Mexico boss Miguel Herrera will have a daunting task ahead of him to choose his best side as they face Netherlands in the third knock out match of the tournament. Herrera is a internet star and he also managed to managed to unite a broken Mexico side and led them into the Last-16s when their Group had good teams like Croatia and Cameroon. He will be facing a side managed by Louis Van Gaal, who have had a very successful group stage performance. According to recent reports, it is being told that the Dutch squad will be granted a trip to space if they win the World Cup which works as an added incentive for the Robin van Persie led team.

Players to look out for:

Robin van Persie, having served his suspension will be back in this time against Mexico and will pose a threat to the Mexican defense. Arjen Robben, currently one of the fastest players in the World Cup is one to look out for as he single handedly breaks opposition’s defense with his pace and tactics. For the El Tris, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has been magnificent having made a number of wonderful saves. Veteran Rafael Marquez is captaining his fourth World Cup for Mexico and has been crucial in their success.

Teams head-to-head:

The two teams have faced six times before with Netherlands winning in 3 and Mexico in 2.

Probable line-ups:

Holland (3-4-1-2): Cillessen, De Vrij, Ron Vlaar, Martins Indi; Janmaat, De Jong, De Guzman, Blind; Sneijder; Robben, Van Persie.

Mexico (5-3-2): Ochoa; Aguilar, Moreno, Márquez, Rodríguez, Layún; Guardado, Vázquez, Herrera; Dos Santos, Hernández.

Prediction:

The Mexican side has shown that they are not a very easy to break having already held the Brazilian side to a draw. They will give the Dutch side a run for their money. This definitely will be a tightly contested fixture and Netherlands will pull through.

Final Score Prediction: Mexico 1 – 2 Netherlands.
