Kerala Blasters XI: James (GK), Jhingan, Gurwinder, Hengbart (C), Saumik, Godwin, Romey, Pearson, Sabeeth, Milagres, Hume
David James’ side pick up all three points in this battle of mavericks as Dynamos’ woes continue with a 0-1 defeat at Jawaharlal Stadium.
Harm van Veldholven’s side continue their miserable run despite the presence of Del Piero from the word go. Delhi started game very brightly as they were the side who looked like they’ll break the deadlock first. But all of their domination never in the attacking third never materialized as they lacked that final ball. Kerala defense stood firm and never lost their shape as David James lead the defense by his exceptional leadership skills.

It looked like Delhi would be the one to win this tie when both the teams entered into the half time. But in second half the hosts got desperate for a goal and they started to commit more men forward. This gave the Southerners the space and time to hit them on counter.
This is what exactly they did and got themselves a goal in 67th minute via their captain Penn Oriji, which eventually was the goal that clinched the tie for the Blasters. Iain Hume was arguably their best attacker for the day as he always kept Dynamos’ defenders on their toes. Delhi should have won this match very comfortably but they themselves are to be blamed as their woeful finishing and lack of penetration cost them the match.
The win propels Blasters into the 3rd spot while Delhi slid down to the bottom of the table.
