The battle for fourth just got interesting as Delhi Dynamos are turning on the heat as they thrash Peter Reid’s Mumbai City 4-1 at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Delhi.
Initially the game was even-stevens as both sides were cautiously trying to find their feet But Hans Mulder’s 44th minute strike just turned the game on its head. Mulder smashed home a majestic volley as Mumbai’s defensive woes continued to grow.
Second half was all about Dynamos. They just steamrolled the boys in blue as two quick fire goals from Mulder and dos Santos put the game beyond their opponent’s reach. At the hour mark Gustavo scored a peach of a goal while Mulder double his tally in the 50th minute.
Mumbai’s defensive organization was in tatters as Delhi was bypassing them at will. Mulder and Gustavo were playing really fabulous as they proved their point after making a slow start to the season.
Mumbai got a consolation in the 86th minute as Abhishek Yadav came off the bench to score but their joy was short lived as Delhi got their three goal cushion back with a stoppage time goal from Manish Bhargav.
Mumbai lie at the bottom of the table after suffering their second consecutive loss while Delhi jump up to 5th place with this win.
