Angle Di Maria is set to join Manchester United in what could break the British transfer fee record, currently held by Fernando Torres and Chelsea. A deal worth £60 Million has reportedly been agreed by the clubs for the transfer of Argentinian winger. Di Maria and his agent are expected to hold contract negotiation talks with the English club in the coming days.

Di Maria rejected contract extension talks with Real as he felt he was being valued less after two consecutive big money summer signings arriving in the form of Gareth Bale and Columbian James Rodriguez, both earning more than double of that of, the long serving winger, who whilst wasn’t even in the list of top 10 earners for the Madrid club.

On Thursday Carlo Ancelotti signaled that the player was trying to force his way out of Real when the coach stated he had turned down a new contract. “Di María asked to go,” said the Italian coach said. “The player has to look for a solution. He’s a Real Madrid player and until 31 August, as I’ve already said, anything can happen.”
