Goal line Technology
Football has always been an unpredictable game. Along with being unpredictable the game is also a controversial one. There have been gazillion instances where controversial decisions especially concerned with disallowed goals have been responsible in making or breaking a tie.
But the advent of Goal lone technology has brought a much needed change in the game.
What is Goal-line Technology?

GoalLine Technology has been defined as a method used to determine when the ball has slightly crossed the goal line with the assistance of electronic devices and at the same time assisting the referee in awarding a goal or not.
So basically it is a sensor which detects whether the ball has crossed the line or not. It is implemented with the help of two devices which are fitted in two components of the game. One is ball and the other is goal net.
The ball has a chip inside it and the net has a receptor which traps the signal send by the transmitter inside the ball. There are three prominent technologies used in Goalline tech –
1. GoalRef
2. Hawk-Eye
3. GoalControl
Hawk-Eye and GoalControl are the most popular ones. Hawk-Eye is more widely used than the GoalControl.
There are still apprehensions over the technology as some feel that the human element of the game is lost. Also the technology is not cheap at all and this also makes the system face some opposition from the less fortunate clubs who fight bankruptcy at each and every minute.
