Indian Super League auction most expensive signings
Indian Super League is back after a brilliant opening year, and this time they are back with something new and something which has never been seen in the world of football and live auction of players. With the 9 players divided in pools of two, the 8 teams fought it out for players.
1) Sunil Chhetri to Mumbai City FC
Indian national team captain Sunil Chhetri was sold for a whopping 1.20cr as owner Ranbir Kapoor could well fulfill his wishes of having a marquee strike force in Anelka and Chhetri.
2) Eugeneson Lyngdoh to Pune City FC
A creative midfielder and voted has the best player in this years I League, Eugeneson was as expected in demand. With as many as 5 clubs bidding for the player, it was Pune City Fc who signed for 1.05cr in the end.
3) Rino Anto to Atletico de Kolkata
A right back with a base value of just 17.5 lakhs, went on the table with Mumbai City FC and FC Goa fighting it out, but surprisingly it was the defending champions Atletico de Kolkata who banged the player.
4) Karanjit Singh to Chennaiyin FC
It was a straight out auction for the only keeper in the draft, Karanjit who had a base price of 60 lakhs went for the same price as Chennaiyin and Marco signed their target.
5) Robin Singh to Delhi Dynamos
Another big name on the draft Robin Singh was auction off for a price of 40 lakhs. He was ultimately purchased for a price of 50 lakhs by local club Delhi Dynamos.
Other players sold in the draft were, Arata Izume, Thoi Singh, Jackichand Singh, Anas Edathodika and Seityasen Singh.
