Liverpool snap up Schalke Defender

Joel Matip is headed to the Premier League and it is English Giants Liverpool that have won the race to sign the defender. The 24 year old has signed a pre-contract agreement to sign for the English side in June when his contract expires.

"I have always said I would only leave Schalke for one reason: to experience something new,” the defender said."Schalke will remain a big family for me and I was always proud to play for this great club. Therefore I will do everything possible over the coming months to get the most out of this season."
