The 2013 Ballon d' Or winner Ronaldo who has had a sublime start to the new season, was quoted saying his rivalry with Lionel Messi is a “positive” one.
Ronaldo and Messi who have enjoyed a healthy rivalry in terms of goals, assists and trophies with both trying out do each other week in week out.
“This is part of my life,” Ronaldo told World Soccer.
“It is normal that people compare us. I am used to it. It happened to
me at Manchester United and I know how to manage it.
“We are football colleagues. Outside of football I have no
relationship with Messi, but not with other players either. It is a
positive rivalry.”
Messi who had a injury ravaged last season, is back competing with Cristiano to snatch back his best player title from the Real Madrid forward, but Ronaldo's sublime form has already seen him score a incredible 13 goals from the opening 6 games, which breaks his own record of 10 from 6.
With a healthy rivalry between these two, we hope for another brilliant season from the duo for their club as well as their country.
