Lionel Messi and records are synonymous with each other. There are now only a handful of records which haven't been smashed by him. Now he is on the cusp of one such record ahead of this weeks clash against Athletic.

The Barcelona talisman is just 2 goals shy of 400 career goals for both club and country. He can very well achieve it against Athletico.

Well this is not the first time the Argentine striker is about to break records against the Basque club. In 2011-12, Barcelona won 2-0, and Messi
became the first player to score 56 official goals in a single season for 10 years. Later that year, he went past Gerd Mueller's record of 85 goals in a single season with a sublime brace against the same opposition.
