Phil McNulty demystifies the Ched Evans saga

Ched Evans saga is rocking English football for quite a while now. This has been given a push by Oldham Athletic who are hell bent on signing the Welsh striker, who is convicted of rape.

BBC’s Chief Football Writer, Phil McNulty, looks at the saga from all perspective angles. He posed ten questions which are the plinth of the problems that are boiling this saga to a point where it can ruin either Evans’ career or tarnish PFA, FA and League Association’s image beyond repair. Here are those million dollar questions.

  1. What has this done to the image of English football?
  2. Has football as a whole misjudged public reaction?
  3. Will the FA change the rules to prevent him playing?
  4. Are the PFA right to support Ched Evans?
  5. But what about Gordon Taylor's Hillsborough comments? How will they affect his future?
  6. The Football League will decide on his registration - where do they stand?
  7. Where can Ched Evans still play?
  8. Who will want to sign Ched Evans now?
  9. What happens next if another club tries to sign Ched Evans?
  10. Is Ched Evans worth the trouble?

These questions do try to give us an in-depth insight in this saga which has shaken the very foundations of English football. But despite all these questions do we reach a solution or are further led into even more perplexing questions. Only time will tell.
