Real Madrid Snatch Toni Kroos for 20 Million

Jul 15, 2014 18:37

Real Madrid signed their best player this transfer season yet as they secured the services of Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos for a bargain price of £20 million, yes you heard it right! £20 million!

The price is surprising, considering Real Madrid were on the buying end who are notorious for shelling out huge sums for similar kind of players.

The 24-year-old dubbed one of the best in the world has his performance in the World Cup as a testimony to the claim.

He had the best time of his career being part of the World Cup winning national team that beat Argentina 1-0 in the final at Maracana.

He scored 2 goals and assisted for 4 more in the World Cup and was among the frontrunners for the Golden Ball which he eventually lost to Argentine captain Lionel Messi.

The player was formerly linked to Manchester United but as it turned out they were just rumors. He has now signed a five year deal with Los Blancos and will earn a salary of £160,000 per week.

The deal, however, is a failure for Bayern Munich as the player could easily have garnered more money, about twice his selling price and in terms of his terms of his presence.
