What you just read isn’t someone’s FIFA 14 score against his buddy but a score of an actual game that took place at St. Mary’s. Southampton continue their impressive start under Ronald Koeman as they rout Black Cats 8-0.
Dusan Tadic and Graziano Pelle combined together for the first time this season and we have this result. Sunderland defense was clueless about how to handle this Saints’ duo. Pelle, who is fresh off scoring his first for the Azzuri, scored two and set up three as he certainly was having a field day at St. Mary’s
Tadic was the best player on field without a shadow of doubt as he scored one and set up four for the hosts. But along with this deadly duo, Sunderland themselves are to be blamed as they scored two suicidal own goals. Defender Santiago Vergini was supposedly lost on field due to Saints’ similar attire to them as he thumped a volley into his own net. Till Vergini’s own goal Sunderland were the dominant side as Southampton were slow off the blocks.
Leon Bridcutt scored another own goal to complete the humiliating defeat. Sadio Mane , Jack Cork and Victor Wanyama chipped in with a goal each in this goal fest. This is Southampton’s biggest victory in almost 93 years as they haven’t won a game by more than four goals.
