Represented Kerala State in the Under-14 level in the South Zone Championships and finished Runners-Up. Akhil scored a spectacular goal from near the half-line, for which the visiting Indian national coach congratulated him personally.
Played at district level 4 times, thrice Runners-Up. In one edition, Akhil once scored a goal straight from a corner kick, which was awarded the Goal of the tournament.
Part of the SEPT side which finished Runners-up in Dubai in the Dubai Super Cup.
