10 most horrible injuries in football

The Beautiful game can often turn horrid for some prolific players who've had to either end their careers or move off to a lower league team where the game isn't that demanding.

1. David Busst -

It is one of the most horrific injury ever to occur in world of football. It was in 1996, Coventry defender Busst suffered a compound fracture of his tibia and fibula after a collision with Dennis Irwin. He could never play professionally again. United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, who witnessed the injury, required counseling afterwards.

2. Djibril Cisse -

The French forward also suffered a similarly horrifying injury in 2004 during his Liverpool days. He remarkably returned from both the injuries to have a long and fruitful career at various top flight clubs in Europe.

Smith blocked the free kick with his left foot, his ankle twisted underneath him. Smith commented, "When I looked down, the leg was lying one way and my ankle was pointing towards Hong Kong, so I knew I was in serious trouble."
