That they beat Bayern Munich 8 – 0
1860 Munich holds the record of Largest victory in the Munich Derby; on 22nd December 1918 they defeated Bayern Munich 8 – 0.
Yea! They were quite the big team slayers!
That they started off as a physical fitness club!
The Club originally was founded as a physical fitness and Gymnastic association. A meeting was held on 15th of July 1848 in a local pub "Buttlesche Brauerei zum Bayerischen Löwen"
NO! We are serious! And yes, we do realise that this must probably be one of the very few plans that actually panned out outside the pub! :P
That they play in Allianz Arena as well
They have shared the Allianz Arena with Bayern since 2005. However, they have face Bayern only 4 times since they have shared this stadium (3 friendlies and 1 Cup Match)
Their Old ground (Olympic Stadium) is used for Women’s’ football matches and reserve team matches.
That the Club was banned and formed as a football club a lot later!
The club was banned a year later by the Bavarian Monarchy on the grounds of "republican activities".
On 17th May 1860, the club was formally reestablished and after mergers with other local associations in 1862, the club was called Turnverein München. A separate department for football was created on 6th march 1899.
Also they played their first match against other teams three years later.
That 1860 Munich was one of the founding members of the Bundesliga
There was no clear winner of Germany in the terms of football. The purpose of the league was to introduce a structured approach to football and 1860 Munich along with other clubs founded the Bundesliga.
So that 1860 in their name? That was the year the club was established in!

We have all heard about Rogério Ceni and Rene Higuita. While one scored goals for his club the other made otherworldly saves. Let’s go back a bit Petar Radenkovic? was goalkeeper in the 1960s, who was known for venturing into the opponents penalty box.
Oh yea! He really did go all the way to their boxes!
That they won the league
The founding members of the League managed to win the league in 1966. The club witnessed its “Goal-den era” in the 1960’s.
Yea! You guessed it! They were one of the strongest sides in Germany
That they were the last team to win the Oberliga Süd.
Oberliga Sud was the top league football that was replaced by Bundesliga. The problem of organized football was tackled by the Bundesliga. 1860 won the last edition of the Oberliga Sud back in 1963.
That Abidi Pele and Rudi Voller Were a Part of the Club for 2 years each.
The African National represented the German side from 1996 to 98 and the German Forward played for the from 1980 to 82.
YEP! They also had Gabor Kiraly, Lars Bender don their jerseys!
That the Munich based team along with FC Augsburg hold the record for highest attendance.
A Second Division fixture between the two sides took place in jam packed Olympic Stadium in Munich. The stadium which has the capacity of 60,000 was packed beyond capacity after 1860 broke the deadlock in the 3rd minute. It is reported that after this goal, fans climbed over the fences and broke the gates to enter the facility. It is speculated that the match had between 80,000 to 100,000 spectators.

That Rudi Brunnenmeier and Harald Cerny are names to remember for every 1860 Munich fan
Rudi Brunnenmeier scored 139 goals between 1960 and 1968 in the Bundesliga. Harald Cerny holds the record for the maximum number of appearances with 263 league matches for TSV 1860.
