From a scape goat to one of the favorite son's of Old Trafford. Darren Barr Fletcher a name which served the club for almost eleven years and in those years earning himself and the club a whole bunch of medals.

Deservingly so he has earned his right, because no one has ever worked this hard for what they have achieved on a football field. United youth product and rated as one of the best players to come of out from the academy, was plagued with injury which led to his debut being delayed.

With the career start being at a low, Fletcher when handed his debut and a subsequent few games, looked out of place with his every pass and tackle defining his almost apologetic figure to others in the stands and bench.

The young Scot who looked out of place, and already testing the patience of the Old Trafford faithful, became an easy target for those with tendency to scape goat others. With Fletcher the next thing to come out of the academy after Becks, it w almost that two of them were poles apart. With Becks flying high and cementing his place in the team, Fletcher struggled just earning himself negative publicity.

But to believe Darren Fletcher out lasted more than Beckham is astonishing. The reason his high octane challenges and never ending stamina is what earned him 342 appearances for Manchester United.

Darren Fletcher In Numbers:

5 Premier League titles, 2 League Cups, 1 FA Cup, 3 Charity Shields, 1 FIFA Club cup and 1 Champion’s League.
