Brazil finished at the top of Group A will 7 points and were not very convincing being tagged as one of the favorites to win the trophy. They overtook a highly challenging Chile side in the penalty shootouts and are looking to advance into the next round by getting the best of Colombia. The players are chosen based on the statistics of their performance.

Let’s take a look at Brazil’s best performers in defense and midfield.

Best Defender: Dani Alves

Their defense has conceded just 3 goals in 4 games which suggest they have a solid back line. Dani Alves, the Barcelona man has been a key man in his role. He’s been good in defense and has had a better passing percentage which has proved to be crucial in Brazil’s performance.

Best Midfielder: Neymar dos Santos

Brazil’s best midfielder has to be 22-year old youngster Neymar who has enjoyed himself a lot playing in the position having scored 4 goals has the Golden Boot in his reach. He has been monumental in the Selecao’s success so far. With his quick pace and skills he can give even the best of defenders a run for their lives. A statistic of his performance:

Best Forward: Jo

Fred started as the striker for all the 4 games but his performance was rather disappointing as he scored just one goal, which isn’t exactly what one would expect from a player upfront. Jo though came on as a sub during two games and did have quite an impact on his team’s attack. Here’s a statistic of Fred’s play.
