Brazil and the Netherlands have meet each other previously in the World Cup Quarter Final stage of the 2010 tournament in South Africa. The result didn’t go well for Brazil as they lost 2-1, courtesy to a brace by ace midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
The Selacao side had an early lead in the 10th minute as Robinho found the back of the net. All went well as they maintained their 1-0 lead at the end of half time.
But things went south in the second half due to a defensive lapse which Wesley Sneijder capitalized on to score a goal in the 53rd minute.
Sneijder scored again in the 68th minute from a Arjen Robben corner, assisted by Dirk Kuyt that gave the Dutch a lead.
However, this match was not without incident as Brazilian player Felipe Melo was red-carded for a dangerous tackle on Robben in the 73rd minute. Later, Robben was alleged for diving quite like he was during the Mexico match.
