In Ivory Coast, the Civil war in 2006 saw the North held by Rebels and the South held by Government loyals. High hostility was witnessed as both factions raided each others territories and the common people of Ivory Coast were at loss.

At this time Didier Drogba started an appeal to both parties to lay down their arms and reach a consensus through talks. At this time, the Country had qualified for the 2006 FIFA WorldCup and a football game was arranged between Ivory Coast and Madascar where the two parties agreed to meet. At this game Ivory Coast won 5 - 0 and an appeal was made by the players to the leaders who then had peaceful talks and thus the Civil War ended, by using football to unite the nation!

The power of this game for good is amazing!
