Roy Makaay was a center forward who literally scored when he wanted! The Dutch striker was one of the most prolific center forwards of his time.
Makaay, began his career at Vitesse and Tenerife, where he started making noises in European circles with his goals at a young age. After six seasons in Eredivisie, he finally moved to a more superior league as he moved to Deportivo La Coruna.
He made an instant impact at the Astudian club as he led the club to a La Liga title and a Copa Del Rey in his time there. He was at his lethal best as he won European Golden Boot for his 29 goal season in 2003. This was his last season at Deportivo as he made his mega money move to Bayern Munich.
After having a successful stint in Germany, he returned to his native Netherlands in 2007 as he signed for Feyenoord. He scored consistently there as well before hanging up his boots. Roy Makaay is a center forward who was a complete forward in every sense of the word.
