How Mike Horn inspired Germany to win the World Cup

South-African born explorer is a magical figure in sports motivation as the teams that have hired him to coach them before important series such as KKR for IPL7, Mumbai Indians for IPL6, the Indian National Cricket Team before the World Cup 2011 and most recently the German National Football Team (Die Mannschaft) before the FIFA World Cup 2014 have all emerged victorious in their respective tournaments.

He works through team building exercises and integrating the members of a team to function as one. The fact that the members coached by Mike Horn work as a single unit was clearly seen in the performance of KKR and of the German team this year. He trained the German football tam before the World Cup and wa scald again to Puerto Seguero for one last session before they took on the Argentines in the final.

Mike Horn uses his personal travel adventures to inspire the sportsmen to perform better in their game. He also involves the in activities like deep-sea drilling and sailing to make the sportsmen function as a team. He has done everything from circumnavigating the whole world by foot, climbing 8000 feet up the Himalayas without the additional oxygen and exploring the Amazon. They are generally solo affairs, but these experiences are what fuel his motivational talks and the exercises he sets for the teams he coaches.

Mike Horn is acknowledged globally as one of the greatest modern day explorers. He's crossed and swum the rivers, sailed the oceans solo, survived near-death environments, brutally extreme conditions and confronted nature at her most unforgiving. In two decades, he's probably seen more of the earth than any other human. He realized that the future of our planet lay solely in the hands of our youth, who if properly educated and informed, can save and sustain our world for generations to come. He created his dream expedition "Pangaea" a four year project that serves as a powerful platform from which young adults can experience and explore the natural world, learn about its challenges, find possible solutions, and above all, act swiftly to help change things for the better. 
Mike launched the 8th Pangaea expedition to Russia in November 2010.
