This wonder kid somehow looks predestined to always be in the news. The 22-year old is having a spectacular time taking everything in his stride and managing to succeed in fulfilling all that is expected of him by the home fans. He scored the first two goals off of Brazil’s 4-1 victory against Cameroon as his country marched into the Last 16 stage of the tournament as the toppers of Group A. He is the top scorer in this World Cup with 4 goals in just 3 games and upped his goal tally to 35 in just 52 games.
Neymar scored the first goal in the 17th minute with a text book finish, courtesy of a beautiful low cross from the left flank by Luis Gustavo.
The second goal though, was a screamer. He picked up a pass from Marcelo, managed to find headway to the centre of the box and smashed the ball right on target into the back of the net. Goalkeeper Itandje despite his dive couldn’t do much to save the goal.
Here’s a statistic of his performance today.
