Although they lost to Argentina in an exciting match, Nigeria still go through to the knockout stages. They came out with an aim to win and troubled the Argentines in the process of the 90 odd minutes played out. Playing particularly well was the Nigerian goalscorer Ahmed Musa. Still young at 21 years he has a whole career ahead and has certainly made heads turn with his performance yesterday.
Starting his career with Aminichi Football Academy, he went on to play for Kano Pillars and made the record for the number of goals scored in a single season in the Nigeria Premier League. From the beginning this player has shown good temperament and talent in his play. Currently he plays for CSKA Moscow for whom he has scored 19 goals in 65 appearances which is a fairly good record.
Gameplay:
Throughout the game he troubled the Argentinean defense with sneaky runs and through balls. He showed good skill and maturity with his two wonderful goals scored for his national team. His first goal was particularly good with a curl around the keeper. See the goals he scored below:
Along with his attacking play he also linked up well with the midfielders to bring the play up. His positioning was intelligent and he was instrumental in stretching the Argentinean back line to create gaps. This youngster is performing well at the tournament and with the many years left in his career, we can only wonder what he can achieve.
