Pre-game Brazil vs Cameroon

Brazil, known to be the favorites to lift the World Cup have not shown the ‘why’ of it through any of their performances. It is surprising that a team of Brazil’s stature has failed to impress at their home. Luis Felipe Scolari’s side has an easy task ahead as they face Cameroon who is without some key players such as Alex Song who is facing suspension and Samuel Eto’o, his fitness is still a bit of a concern. Meanwhile, Hulk will be returning to the squad having shook off an injury and will replace Ramires in the midfield. If the Africans pull off a surprise they will hugely dent Brazil’s hopes.

Top players to look out for:

The wonder kid Neymar, all of 22, has already scored 33 international goals in just 51 appearances and will again hold the key to Brazil’s chances in front of the goal. Oscar will have a good game today as he goes against a vulnerable Cameroonian defense. Willian, the top class Chelsea midfielder will expect himself to do better against the Africans. Samuel Eto’o would probably start despite his injury concern and will hope to change his team’s goal prospects.

Teams head-to-head:

The two teams have faced each other 4 times of which Brazil have won thrice and Cameroon once.

Probable line-ups:

Cameroon: Itandje; Djeugoue, Nkoulou, Chedjou, Nounkeu; Matip, Aboubakar, Choupo Moting, Mbia, Enoh; Eto'o.

Brazil: Cesar; Alves, Silva, Luiz, Marcelo; Paulinho, Gustavo, Hulk; Oscar, Neymar; Fred.

Prediction:

Brazil is by far the favorite to take home the victory in this fixture but Cameroon will hope to spoil their chances as much as possible.

Final Score prediction: Brazil 2 – 0 Cameroon.
