Ecuador Vs Honduras Match Preview #WorldCup2014 #ECUHON

The two head into a must win match after they were defeated in their first fixture. Honduras lost rather convincingly against France while Ecuador succumbed to defeat in the last attempt of the game in the 93rd minute. Ecuador will be the favorites to win this game as they have a much better team at their disposal. The team that wins today will keep their hopes alive to progress into the next round as the outcome of the France and Switzerland is still undecided. Honduras has a bad history in the tournament as they have been unsuccessful in finding the goal in five previous attempts.

Players to look out for:

Carlos Costly had scored a brace for his team against the Ecuador side in their previous meeting in November last year so he will carry the baggage to find success past the Ecuadorian goal keeper. Enner Valencia, who scored his team’s only goal in against the Swiss, will hope to do it again in this critical situation. Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia will be the key to his country’s attack. Jefferson Montero played a brilliant game against the Swiss as he gave his opposition’s defense the scares with his pace will do the same against the Central Americans.

Teams head-to-head:

The two teams have faced each other 13 times with Ecuador winning in 4, Honduras in 3 and the remaining 6 games have ended in draws.

Probable line-ups:

Honduras (4-4-2): Noel Valladares; Emilio Izaguirre, Maynor Figueroa, Víctor Bernárdez, Brayan Beckeles; Andy Najar, Roger Espinoza, Jorge Claros, Óscar Boniek García; Carlo Costly, Jerry Bengtson.

Ecuador (4-4-2): Alexander Domínguez; Walter Ayoví, Frickson Erazo, Jorge Guagua, Juan Carlos Paredes; Jefferson Montero, Christian Noboa, Carlos Gruezo, Antonio Valencia; Enner Valencia, Felipe Caicedo.

Prediction:

Ecuador has the squad and the strength to see off the Hondurans and will precisely do just that.

Final Score Prediction: Ecuador 2 – 0 Honduras.
