Pre-Game Ghana vs Portugal

Both Portugal and Ghana still have a chance to make it to the Last 16 but their fortune is highly dependent on a German victory and their own. If Portugal is to make it to the pre-quarters Ronaldo and Co. need to win by scoring a substantial amount of goals and USA should lose to their match by a huge margin. Same goes with Ghana, all they need is to secure a victory and USA to lose their game. This will be an uphill task for Paulo Bento’s side; probably a hill that they can’t climb considering their captain is suffering from a knee injury and can’t perform to his prime. They are also missing Fabio Coentrao who is out of the tournament courtesy to a thigh injury. Pepe, though, will be able to start having served a brief suspension.

Top players to look out for:

If Portugal still makes it to the next stage despite a mountain of odds stacked against them, it will be the most glorious come backs in the history of World Cup. All the odds can be overcome if a certain Cristiano Ronaldo steps up when he is most needed. He will definitely be one to look out for. Pepe, the beast should be one to watch out for all the right reasons this time as he will be guarding his goal. For the Ghana side, Asamoah Gyan has performed brilliantly so far will be the key to their goal scoring chance.

Teams head-to-head:

The two teams have not each other in any competitive fixtures.

Probable line-ups:

Portugal (4-3-3): Beto; Almeida, Costa, B Alves, Pereia; R Meireles, W Carvalho, Moutinho; Varela. Ronaldo, Nani.

Ghana (4-2-3-1): Dauda; Afful, Mensah, Boye, Asamoah; Rabiu, Badu; C Atsu, J Ayew, A Ayew; A Gyan.

Prediction:

The two teams will look to outdo the other. Expect Ronaldo to be on fire, he will score some sweet goals. Portugal is most likely to win.

Final Score Prediction: Ghana 0 – 3 Portugal.
