Pre-Game Brazil vs Netherlands

Both Brazil and Netherlands were disappointed to have lost out on an opportunity to win the World Cup. While the hosts Brazil were humiliated in front of their home crowd as Germany served them with a 7-1 defeat, the Dutch national team was out of luck as they couldn’t get past Argentinian goalkeeper Sergio Romero. The two teams will now look to salvage their pride despite them being apprehensive of such a match even taking place. Brazil will want the victoy more than the Oranje as they will want to bounce back after their massacre to give their fans something to cheer up about.

Players to look out for:

It remains to be seen how the Brazilian defense will stand now after their defeat, they definitely have lost their confidence but today they will hope to pull back whatever they can. Oscar was the lone goal scorer against Germany despite having many attempts to show for himself, he will expect himself to score to cheer himself up. For the Dutch,  Arjen Robben in midfield along with Wesley Sneijder and Robin van Persie in attack will look to take home a third place finish at least.

Teams head-to-head:

The two teams have played 11 times with both the teams having picked up 3 victories each. They also have 15 goals each to show for their performance.

Probable line-ups:

Brazil (4-2-3-1): Cesar; Maicon, Luiz, Dante, Marcelo; Gustavo, Fernandinho; Willian, Oscar, Hulk; Fred.

Netherlands (5-3-2): Cillesen; Kuyt, De Vrij, Vlaar, Martins Indi, Depay; Wijnaldum, Sneijder, Blind; Robben, Van Persie.

Prediction:

Brazil’s heart is on fire after that thumping defeat, they will use that fire to burn the Dutch down. Considering the Dutch coach Louis van Gaal statement about the uselessness of a third-place match, his team will be less interested and won’t pack a punch.

Final Score Prediction: Brazil 2 – 1 Netherlands.
