Pre-Game England vs Uruguay

This Group D fixture is going to among the most exciting ones this World Cup season after the course of the first set of matches. The two teams have lost their first games with Uruguay bowing down to underdogs Costa Rica, who are surprisingly sitting at the top, and England despite their good performances succumbed to a 2-1 defeat handed to them by Italy. The winners of this match can keep their hope alive but the losers will have to arrange themselves with a flight back home. So both the teams at any cost will try to bring their best foot forward and win the game.  The Uruguayan squad will be fancying their chances as Luis Suarez will be featuring their chances while the young guns in the three lions’ squad will be optimistic about their chances.

Players to look out for:

Raheem Sterling impressed everyone with his blistering performance and will be hoped upon to do the same. Adam Lallana, who only played for 10 minutes against the Azzurris also performed well. Forward Daniel Sturridge, too, will have eyes closely following him. Among the Uruguay, Luis Suarez is one to watch out for, being the top scorer in the league, higher expectations will be pinned on him to win the match for his country. Uruguay’s defense is old and shaky hence the likes of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Jack WIlshere will look to push them past their level.

Teams head-to-head:

The two teams have played 10 games amongst them, of which Uruguay has won 4, England 3 with three ending in draws.

Probable line-ups:

Uruguay (4-2-3-1): Muslera; Caceres, Lugano, Godin, Pereira; Gargano, Arevalo; Rodriguez, Forlan, Suárez; Cavani.

England (4-2-3-1): Hart; Johnson, Jagielka, Cahill, Baines; Gerrard, Wilshere; Welbeck, Rooney, Sterling; Sturridge.

Predictions:

This will be an exciting match as both the teams will be intent on inflicting pain on the other. The game will be filled with action.

Final Score Predictions: England 3 – 3 Uruguay
