Pre-game Germany vs Ghana

Joachim Loew’s Germany looks like one of the strongest teams in the World Cup after its 4-0 rout of Ronaldo’s Portugal in their first game courtesy of a hat-trick from Thomas Mueller. Now they are going to face a bruised Ghana side that is desperate to keep their hopes alive after their 2-1 loss to USA. This German team is the most complete squad in the tournament with every player having won at least a trophy with their clubs. The African side will face an uphill task against the probable favorites. If Germany wins the match, they will progress into the Last-16 stage of the tournament.

Players to look out for:

Thomas Mueller, the hat-trick hero in the drubbing of Portugal will be crucial this time too in his country’s attack. Mario Goetze also had a good game against his European rivals as he made a few attempts on target only to be blocked away by the Portuguese goal keeper. Mesut Ozil, the magician, was able to find enough space between his opponent’s defenses, it remains to be seen whether he can do the same against the Ghana. The whole of Ghana’s defense will be under watch to determine if they can withstand the barrage of German attacking line-up.

Teams head-to-head:

The two teams have faced each other 2 times with Germany winning both the ties comfortably with a 6-1 victory in one and 1-0 in another.

Probable line-ups:

Germany (4-3-3): Neuer; Boateng, Mertesacker, Mustafi, Höwedes; Kroos, Lahm, Schweinsteiger; Özil, Müller, Götze.

Ghana (4-2-3-1): Dauda; Opare, Mensah, Boye, Asamoah; Essien, Muntari; Atsu, Boateng, Ayew; Gyan.

Prediction:

The Germans will cruise to a comfortable yet again as the Ghana team is no match for them.

Final Score Prediction:

Germany 4 – 1 Ghana.
