Pre-Game Netherlands vs Chile

Netherlands have survived the Australia scare and are sitting pretty at the top of the table having already qualified into the Last-16s. They will face Chile in their next Group B fixture who are equal on points but in second place due to goal difference. As the Dutch face Chile they will be putting the top spot of Group B up for grabs, meaning the winner of the game will take over as the leaders of the group. Both the teams have successfully managed to dominate their opponents in their previous two matches which suggest that this tie will make for a very exciting match-up as two attacking philosophies meet each other.

Key Players to look out for:

Arjen Robben has been spectacular for his team having scored 3 goals in just two matches and will definitely play a major role in how the fixture pans out. The Bayern Munich will shoulder the responsibility of his team as Captain Robin van Persie is suspended. Memphis Depay is likely to start in Persie’s position and will hope to put the ball into the net. Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez has performed brilliantly for Chile and will hold a key role in his country’s attack with Charles Aranguiz.

Teams head-to-head:

The two teams have played only one game between each other and the outcome was a 2-2 draw.

Probable line-ups:

Netherlands (4-3-3): Cillessen, Blind, de Vrij, Vlaar, Janmaat; de Jong, de Guzman, Wijnaldum,; Depay, Robben, Huntelaar

Chile (3-4-1-2): Bravo – Medel, Silva, Jara – Isla, Aranguiz, Diaz, Mena – Vidal – Sanchez, Vargas.

Prediction: The absence of Robin van Persie may work against the Dutch. This is an evenly matched fixture and is likely to end in a draw.

Final Score Prediction: Chile 2 – 2 Netherlands.
