Sergio Romero beats Lionel Messi to become Argentinas MVP

Interestingly, Lionel Messi was not the man that set the field ablaze in the semi-finals against Netherlands. It was the goalie Sergio Romero with his two amazing saves that set Argentina’s World Cup clash against Germany on Sunday.

Messi’s advances were snuffed out completely as he was given very little space to work his magic. The game was very even with both teams vying for that one elusive goal that was not to be found.

Instead, the game was set to be decided on penalties which the Argentinians took by its whiskers.

The Dutch were the first to take the penalty with Ron Vlaar attempting to put his team ahead but it was saved by the star of the day Romero.

The second was taken by Robben who successfully converted as Sneijder missed the third to give Argentina the upper hand.

Here’s a video of the whole action that set Argentina’s final destiny with Germany on Sunday.
