His high work rate and pressing play meant that he was in the action while going ahead and also while falling back for defense. Hard work coupled with creativity made him an effective attacker for the hosts. He is definitely one player to watch out for.

Mario Goetze (Germany)

His quick pace and smart thinking opened up many defenses with ease. Scoring 2 goals in 258 minutes of play, he has shown skill, maturity of thinking and creativity of play. His winner for Germany in the finals was a marvelous piece of control and skill.

Paul Pogba (France)

The much spoken about midfielder from France had great expectations riding on his shoulders. His performance for country showed immense maturity holding the defensive midfield tight and still making runs to create holes in opposition defense. His consistency to push the attacking midfielders higher up forward and shield the defense effectively showed commitment to the game and he scored 1 goal and created 1 assist in the process. These qualities won him the award and he will continue to be a shining light for this country if he continues his strong performances.
