Anelka - "I thank Wenger for what I am today"


Nicholas Anelka was one of the brightest talents in Europe in his younger days. He has been an eventful journeyman of European football. The French international has played for five clubs in France and England. Along with this he has had brief spells in China, Turkey and Italy.



Currently he is plying his trade in India, representing Mumbai City FC in Indian Super league. He has had a trophy laden career all across the globe.



In a candid chat with ESPN, he admitted that his compatriot and former manager Arsene Wenger has been influential in his early stages of his career.



Anelka said:



"I think he was good for me. He signed me and made me what I am today. He gave me a chance and I took it."
