Bayern Munich vs AS Roma Match Preview

Bayern Munich welcome Romans to Bavaria for their Champions League tie which could seal the fate of both the clubs. Bayern thrashed Roma 7-1 in the reverse fixture in Rome, which Rudi Garcia termed as ‘an accident’.

Overview

Bayern Munich are running high on confidence after their second half comeback against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. To add on, they have already humiliated Roma to an extent that they enjoy a supreme level of confidence. Only complacency can prolong their progress to the next round tonight.

Roma on the other hand are beginning to wobble after making an impressive start to the season. They got outclassed by Bayern and Napoli within the space of 15 days. Their midfield woes are a major factor in their current situation.

Team News

Bayern will be without Bastian Schweinsteiger and Pepe Reina along with other long term absentees. We may see an unchanged side tonight, similar to which hosted Dortmund on weekend.

AS Roma are facing an injury crisis in midfield. They lost Danielle De Rossi in the weekend who joined his fellow midfielder Kevin Strootman on sidelines.

Possible lineups

Bayern: Neuer; Boateng, Benatia, Alaba; Lahm, Alonso, Bernat; Robben, Müller, Götze; Lewandowski.

Roma: De Sanctis; Torosidis, Manolas, Yanga-Mbiwa, Holebas; De Rossi, Keita, Nainggolan; Pjani?; Totti, Gervinho.
