Sergio Aguero escapes the ban

Sergio Aguero was on the verge of getting suspended and would have missed this weekend’s crucial tie against city rivals Manchester United.

Aguero had stamped West Ham’s Mark Noble in City’s 2-1 defeat at the Boleyn ground. The incident was witnessed by the referee and he deemed the incident as insignificant and was not worth the suspension.

This is very good news for City as they will have the Argentine available for derby day as they look to close a six point gap on leaders Chelsea. Aguero is joint top scorer in the league with 9 goals.

A similar incident had occurred couple of weeks ago when Craig Dawson stamped Crystal Palace’s Julian Speroni. He, too, escaped the ban like the Cityman.
