Chelsea FC and Samsung are set to part ways
Chelsea and Samsung are set to end their 10 year partnership at the end of this season. The Korean electronics giants have backed the west London club since 2005.
Chelsea renewed their contract with Samsung in 2013 after winning the prestigious Champions League. Samsung pay Chelsea a yearly sum of £18million which is way less than what top clubs Manchester United, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern currently earn.
According to the English news outlet Daily Mail, Turkish Airlines are the frontrunners to replace the Korean company. The Turks already are sponsors for Manchester United, Barcelona and the Turkish National team.
Being the Europe’s fourth biggest airlines, the company are trying to expand and looking to make a strong foothold in the airline business. With the airlines already roping in the big sporting icons like Lionel Messi and Kobe Bryant for a commercial, the sponsorship deal with Chelsea would be a win-win situation, as the English club look to have great future with Mourinho at the helm and with talent to show on the pitch too.
Chelsea recently announced a partnership with Scottish whiskey makers WILLIAM LAWSON'S as the clubs Whiskey partners, the club is trying hard to generate commercial income to dodge the financial fair play rules.
