Chelsea Ladies edged past defending champs Liverpool Ladies courtesy of a Eniola Aluko’s goal in a keenly fought contest. The win keeps Chelsea the only side in the league which is undefeated.
Aluko scored a sublime goal in second half as she lobbed Reds keeper Libby Stout as she broke the deadlock after a tense first half. Liverpool looked a pale shadow of them through the game as they failed to exert any sort of dominance in the game. Liverpool enjoyed loads of possession but lacked penetration as

Liverpool midfielder Fara Williams missed a penalty as she fired her spot kick wide. Liverpool was awarded penalty after referee spotted handball in Chelsea’s box.
