Delhi and Kolkata played out a stalemate, as both sides failed to convert their opportunities.
Home side made three changes from the blistering 4-1 against Mumbai as Shouvik Ghosh, Souvik Chakraborty and Adil Khan made their way into the first team. Del Piero still on the bench was disappointing.
Kolkata on the other hand, also benched their marquee player captain Luis Garcia. Coach Habas made three changes too, Baljit Sahni, Ofentse Nato and Biswajit Saha were the changes made.
The home team started off as the better team, as they played the ball around and had good moment especially Junker and Dos Santos played well. But for all the good moment Delhi had, they failed to create a clear cut opening.
But a moment arrived when Delhi should have scored in the 18th minute as a shot from Junker had deflected, and fell of Souvik and in the moment he hit the ball straight at the keeper, if it had been anywhere away from him would have been a goal.
As the half progressed, Kolkata attack took the onus on them as they dropped deep to pick up the ball and attack the Delhi goal. Sahni had a chance to score as he was teed up by Ponday but he failed to finsih. Rakesh Masih looked to surprise the Delhi Keeper with a long ranger but was saved easily. Ponday was proving difficult for the home defence to containt as he played a direct form of football.
The score was 0-0 at half time with both teams having their chances.
Delhi made one change in the second half with midfielder Souvik coming off to be replaced by Shylo Malswamtulunga. Kolkata where unchanged as the match go underway.
Delhi probed early in the half as a cross from Santos couldn't be met by the Danish Striker Junker. As Delhi continued, Santos was denied a goal by a superb save from Kolkata keepet to keep him out.
Kolkata had their chances as they tested Delhi's Belgium keeper as a free head was saved easily by him.
The game ended as it started, Delhi remained on 5th spot and Kolkata who look on the verge of qualification, sit third on the table.
