Chennaiyin FC traveled to country capital to take on Delhi Dynamos and Del Piero. The game ended the Southern teams unbeaten three game run as Delhi ripped apart their opponents, winning the game by four goals to one.
As soon as the whistle blew, Delhi where on the attack. Delhi side had a corner in the first 20 secs of the game, as captain Del Piero took the corner short the ball fell to defender Raymakers, he blasted the ball in the net with just 33 secs on the clock. One-nil Delhi. The fastest Indian Super League goal scored by the former Genk youth academy graduate.
The home side dominated the proceedings, as their coach decided to line up a bit differently as they switched to a more conventional 4-4-1-1 from their traditional 4-3-3.
Chennai took the first goal in stride as they tried to make a come back but Delhi keeper doing well to collect the ball a Ali's miss kick which fell to Elano. Delhi who where now on the back, got a goal as they counter attacked and found the Chennai defense sleeping. A great ball from Dias found Junker in the middle as he headed home for the second goal.
Delhi looked comfortable, with some intricate passing at display for the fans as they cheered their home team in full voice.
At the start of second half, the teams saw their managers making a couple of changes, Djordjic coming off for striker Mendoza and Balwant coming off for Jayesh Rane as Materazzi opted for three at the front for Chennai.
Delhi again started the half well, as they almost scored to make it three but only for Chennai's keeper who had different intentions.
At the 62th minute Chennai substitute, Mendoza almost made it 2-1 but this time it was the Delhi keeper who kept his opponents at bay. But just six minutes from that attempt, Chennai reduced the deficit through a sublime free kick from none other than the man Elano Blumer.
The game grew a bit tense, with Chennai threatening. But it wasn't two long before Delhi made it 3-1 through a penalty and sealed their first all three points in the ISL history.
Just to add to the score line, Gustavo made it 4-1 in 90 plus minute of the game as the Dynamos trumped.
