Former Liverpool forward and France Legend Djibril Cisse has made startling revelations about his time at Anfield. He said Gerrard was a ‘great captain’.
In a story by GFN Press Conference which is picked up by Sean Monaghen for 90thmin.com, stae that Gerrard asked Benitez to leave during the epic night in Istanbul in the half time when the Reds were 3-0 down to mighty AC Milan.
He said, Djibril Cissé on Gerrard: "We have a lot of similarities and we got on from the first minute. A super captain."
He added further on, "He said "boss can you please leave the dressing room so I can talk to my team?" and he did it."
"In Champions League at half-time he asked Benitez to leave the dressing room so he could talk to the players."
Now this speaks volumes about the leadership qualities of Steven Gerrard.
