Today's Marca has rounded up various media houses from Uruguay after Barcelona's cult hero Luis Suarez started the game after a ga of four months.
Marca which is a Madrid based paper and generally which acts as a mouth piece to Real Madrid's president and clubs day to day activities, was trying to take a punt on their rivals as Madrid blew Barca's challenge in the second half.
Marcelo Decaux, from El Observador, offered his verdict: "Expectations were high, but I didn't expect much from him because I didn't think he'd start. I thought he'd come on to freshen things up, but Luis Enrique thought he could have a greater impact on the opposition defence by starting the game".
Eduardo Rivas, from Radio Montecarlo in Montevideo and Canal 4, echoed these thoughts: "I was surprised that he started. It's clear that he hasn't played enough games yet".
Diego Pérez, from El País, noted that "Luis Suárez looked for Neymar and Messi more than they looked for him. The doubt remains over whether he'll have to adapt to Barça's game or vice versa. It'll be a big job for Luis Enrique. The player I liked the most was Neymar".
Decaux went on to stress that "Messi didn't pass to Suárez once. His teammates didn't help him. That isn't the style of play that suits him best. Suárez provided an assist for Neymar for the goal and crossed the ball in when Messi could have scored the second, and that would have changed the whole contest".
