El Tigre to Chelsea
Jose Mourinho is keen on signing Radamel Falcao on loan. Speculations suggest that the deal is expected to be a swap deal and Monaco are expected to get a player from Chelsea FC.
Falcao was expected to lead the attack for the Red Devils last season, but failed to do so. Falcao was still recovering from a knee injury, and the ex Atletico Madrid man never found his rhythm and his performances upset the fans and the manager alike. United who had signed el Tigre on loan with an option to purchase, decided against making his loan deal a permanent one.
Falcao may have a bad season at Manchester United and may not have lived up to his reputation but El Tigre has performed quite consistently during his time with Atletico Madrid as well as Monaco. He is known for his ability to Finish the ball well and shoot from a distance. He is also known to be an indirect set piece threat. He is however criticised to not hold the ball well and not contribute enough defensively.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in the 29 year old Colombian forward. It would be interesting to see whether Mourinho can get the best out of the forward or would El Tigre suffer like he did under Mourinho’s teacher Van Gaal. As per rumours, Loic Remy is expected to leave Chelsea to make room for El Tigre.
Mourinho remains committed to helping the Colombia and there would be fewer risks involved with signing the forward on a yearlong load deal. AS Monaco have been hit by fair-play sanctions need to unload the forward who is currently earning 265,000 per week. If Mourinho can convince the Ex Atletico man to take a pay cut, his deal may conclude sooner than expected.
