Impossible to match Ferguson: Mourinho

The Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho won his eighth title across four countries on Sunday, but believes the legendary Manchester United boss' record will remain out in front with his 13 Premier League titles.

Mourinho needs five more championships to reach 13, after two wins with Porto in Portugal, two with Internazionale in Italy and one with Real Madrid in Spain, plus his three with Chelsea.

“I have a long way to go but Sir Alex left the bar in an impossible position for anyone. Impossible. I cannot win 13 Premier Leagues.”

“I can win 13 championships. I have eight. I think I can go to 13. But 13 Premier Leagues?

No, no chance.”

Sir Alex was 51 when he led United to his first title with them in the 1992-93 season.

Mourinho is 52 and has just won his third Premier League crown.
