Jordan Ibe the next big star!
Manager Brendan Rodgers is renowned for putting trust in young players and has repeatedly stated his belief in handing young players chances. With the hit example of Raheem Sterling not too far away. Liverpool are trying to bring in home grown talent, are yet again proving successful in their efforts with 19 year old Jordan Ibe making his European debut against Besiktas yesterday.
Not only made his debut, he was handed the Man of the match by the clubs very own captain Steven Gerrard, who said
"He was man of the match by a country mile."
That's a big big thing to be handed the MOTM with likes of Sturridge, Lallana, Henderson and other on the field.
His stats speak for himself:
"Jordon Ibe's first-half by numbers vs. Besiktas: 4 successful take-ons 87% pass completion 3 chances created" - @Squawka
Ibe justified his inclusion in the starting eleven, as the way he constantly annihilate his marker with his quick feet and close control on his European debut. This is an indication of things to come from this 19year old midfielder.
Ibe raw pace causes hell lot of problems for defenders, his constant marauding runs down the flanks, sometimes drifting in the middle, playing quick passes is what makes him a deadly threat.
Ibe very clearly harbors ambitions to play in the first team as he told Liverpoolfc.com :
“For me personally, I’m trying to get into the first team and hopefully get minutes,” I’ll try
to do well in pre-season first and see how it goes.”
With a reported new five contract waiting for him, we believe Ibe has a big future ahead of him.
