Kerala Blasters midfielder Stephen Pearson stole the show as his 117th minute goal won his team a place in the first ever finals of Indian Super League.
Chennaiyin who trailed by 3-0 from the first leg of the tie, came back to win the game 3-1 which wasn't enough sadly to go through to the finals.
Both teams ended the match with 10 men after Kerala's James McAllister and Chennai's Marco Materazzi were shown the red card.
The home side that is Chennaiyin FC where quick of the blocks as they chased the game. They had a lot of possession compared to opponents Kerala who where struggling to hold the ball.
After a few opportunities, Kerala defender McAllister who was already booked for time wasting, was sent off on 28th minute for a rash challenge on Chennai's Mendy. With Kerala down to ten, the pressure mounted on them.
Jeje Lalpekhlua took a first-time shot but veteran Indian goalkeeper Sandip Nandy was equal to the task, could have been one-nil if not for the keeper.
Chennai poured forward and took the lead just three minutes before half-time. Defender Mikael Silvestre superbly flung himself to a Materazzi free-kick from the left flank to head home.
Chennai started the second half with purpose, as the flung forward in numbers. With Kerala under pressure defender Jihngan scored an own goal.
Chennai made it all score in the 90th minute, as Jeje scored a opportunities goal and made the tie all even.
But it all turned on the head when, Marco Materrazzi was sent off in the extra time, and Pearson scored for Kerala to win the tie on aggregate.
