Liverpool Blues: Sturridge injury


Liverpool and Sturridge have been dealt a further blow with the news that the striker is now expected to be out until next year.

There was more bad news for the already struggling Liverpool camp with Mario Balotelli firing blanks, Daniel Sturridge was expected to be fit and ready for come back from his injury which he had suffered at the start of the season.




But reports from last night revealed that, the striker has injured himself again and is feared to be much worse than the first. This was Sturridge's 13th injury since he joined Liverpool from Chelsea almost two years now.


The Liverpool based times correspondent wrote:


“Liverpool’s worst fears over the fitness of Daniel Sturridge have been realised after it was confirmed that the forward has suffered a fresh thigh injury, leaving him facing a battle to play again this year.”


It is and huge blow for Liverpool whose striker have been in a very poor form. Zero goals have been scored in the Premier League by their strikers, A Liverpool FC statement on Wednesday reads:

Liverpool Football Club today confirmed scans have revealed Daniel Sturridge has sustained a new thigh injury. The player will remain unavailable for selection but will be monitored and assessed during his recovery.
