It is being said that the manager used to assess the players and call the shots from Brazil where he was with his national team for the World Cup.
Defender Jonny Evans spoke on the development and said: “I think it’s a lot more detailed at the training ground. They have spent thousands on it and a few of the lads have seen HD cameras around the pitch.”
Louis van Gaal had been receiving the tapes from the players’ training sessions and had started assessments of the players, of which the results can now be seen with their smashing pre-season performance.
On a more detailed note, Evans explained how the Dutchman is dictating the terms, he said: “He is saying ‘you should be five yards to the right. We are able to see things that are happening live on the pitch. We went through a video last night and I was ten yards out!
“There are things you are doing on the pitch, and the whole team will be feeling the same, and you are thinking ‘am I in the right position?’ Then he will show you in the video and you will know.”
“The case before was that as long as we got the results everything was fine,” concluded the Irishman.
