Atletico Madrid:

Last season’s finalists suffered a shock defeat to Olympiakos in Athens in their opening UEFA Champions League fixture. This opening day disaster has made Atletico’s opening home game against Juventus all the more important.

Post that defeat, Atletico has been in superb form in the La Liga having won two and drawn one, including this week’s thrashing of Sevilla. They face an uphill task of getting all the three points against Massimilano Allegri’s high flying Juventus.

Juventus:

The Old Lady has settled in quite well in life post Antonio Conte. They are unbeaten this season in all competitions and yet are to concede a single goal. A feat till last night they shared with Barcelona, who lost 3-2 to PSG.

The Italian side doesn’t have fond memories of Spain as they have only won 3 out of their 20 games against Spanish oppositions on road.

Team news:

Atletico Madrid:

Atletico has an almost full squad to choose from, with only Gabi missing out due to an ankle injury. The defensive midfielder will undergo a late fitness test.

Juventus:

Juve too have almost full squad to choose from with no recent casualties. Pirlo, Barzagli and Romelu are the only ones not travelling with the squad.

Predicted Lineups:

Atlético: Moyà; Juanfran, Miranda, Godín, Ansaldi; Koke, Tiago, Mario Suárez, Arda; Raúl García; Mandžuki?.

Juventus: Buffon; Cáceres, Bonucci, Chiellini; Liechtsteiner, Pogba, Marchisio, Vidal, Evra ; Tévez, Llorente.

TFM predicts Atletico 1-1 Juventus
