Major League Soccer has avoided a major strike from Players Union and associations as they agree a new deal in time before the season opener.
"I am pleased to announce we have reached an agreement in principle," said MLS commissioner Don Garber.
The deal was agreed after very hard bargaining and negotiations which took place between the union and the league. The deal has improved the terms to the current deal which sees a hike in the minimum wages for all te players participating in the league.
Along with this there will be a form of free agency will be introduced, although it is limited to players 28 years and older with at least eight years in the league. There are other benefits also included in the deal but the full terms and conditions of the deal are yet to be announced.
This season MLS will see the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard gracing the league for LA Galaxy and New York Redbulls respectively.
