One of the stars of the world cup winning German side, Thomas Muller has come out revelling that he rejected an Astronomical bid from the English football giants Manchester United FC this summer.

The now United manager Louis Van Gaal, who gave the 24 year old his club debut in 2009, wanted the German to join him at Old Trafford after an impressive world cup in Brazil. Thomas Muller subsequently ended speculation about his future by signing a five-year contract extension with the Bundesliga giants.

Muller on Manchester United Interest:

The 24-year-old was asked about whether Manchester United almost signed him and he replied: “Of course. I was aware that I could earn more by making that transfer.

“The amount that foreign clubs were offering me was astronomical. But Bayern are my club, a change was not an issue for me.”

According to media, Muller wasn’t the only German target. Marco Reus and Toni Kroos were also on the list of potential transfers. With Reus opting to stay at Dortmund and Kroos choosing join the 10 time Champions league winners Real Madrid.
